“You know Mac, you’re truly walking in Christ’s footsteps.”
“I don’t know why God sent you into my life, but I needed to meet you.”
“God truly sent you into my life.”

Can you imagine what it feels like to help people in such a way that they say things like that to you? Each one of those three very humbling sentences Mac has heard repeatedly in his life as he has presented the ideas in his book, From Trauma to Joy. Our third segment in this series covers how each of us can use our suffering to transform our own life, to transform the lives of those around us who struggle in the aftermath of traumatic events, and to do our best as a servant of God to walk the path that Jesus walked. Each of us has it within ourselves to be a part of God’s healing hand and Mac lays that out for us.

“From Trauma to Joy” aims to transform the reader’s life by sharing unvarnished truths about the reality of life after trauma, by showing readers a path that anyone can travel to become a better version of themself, and then by challenging the reader to help others which is the key to transforming one’s life.

TALKS FOR CHRIST | Post-Traumatic Winning: What It Really Means—and How to Start Living It — with Pastor Bruce Oliver (Part 1)

One of the things that makes Michael McNamara’s book, From Trauma to Joy, different – is that he explains how to walk this path to the reader. The book is a series of blueprints that outlines how to take your life from the Valley of the Shadow of Death to a beautiful place Mac calls the “Heights of Joy.”

The “how to” aspect of all of this is a substantial part of the book and in our second podcast devoted to this subject, Mac explains how to create the “infrastructure” you will need in your life to walk this path.

“From Trauma to Joy” aims to transform the reader’s life by sharing unvarnished truths about the reality of life after trauma, by showing readers a path that anyone can travel to become a better version of themself, and then by challenging the reader to help others which is the key to transforming one’s life.

TALKS FOR CHRIST | Michael McNamara: Why Joy Is Still Possible When the Pain Hasn’t Left — with Pastor Bruce Oliver

Michael McNamara’s book is called “From Trauma to Joy”.  is a “how to” look about living a great life after trauma enters your life. The book’s central premise is that no matter what traumatic experience or experiences you have been through, there is a path from trauma to joy for you. The book lays out that path in simple language and utilizes 160 images and diagrams to embed these life-changing ideas in the minds of its readers.

Mr. McNamara is not a mental health professional; he approaches this subject from the perspective of a leader, which he has been for most of his life. The target audience for “From Trauma to Joy” is any individual who has been through traumatic experiences or has loved ones who have those experiences and is looking for a path to live a great life – estimated to be approximately 95% of the US population. Importantly, Mr. McNamara states explicitly that “From Trauma to Joy” is not a book for people who struggle with a serious mental illness – estimated to be approximately 5% of the US population – and counsels anyone in that group to seek professional medical and psychiatric care.

“From Trauma to Joy” aims to transform the reader’s life by sharing unvarnished truths about the reality of life after trauma, by showing readers a path that anyone can travel to become a better version of themself, and then by challenging the reader to help others which is the key to transforming one’s life.
